BBC Earth / Channel 4 / Migu
Six-part global science series exploring longevity and healthy ageing, filmed across 18 countries. I translated complex and abstract health research into accessible, engaging, human-centred storytelling. Shown around the world including on Channel 4 in the UK, MIGU in China and on BBC Earth.

Zombie Cells - BBC Studios/Migu/Channel 4

I was one of two main director and scriptwriters across the series, responsible for visual storytelling and clear explanation of abstract science. I had full ownership of the Future of Ageing episode and also took Healthy Inside through the edit, explaining the immune, metabolic and microcirculatory systems.

The challenge
Communicating complex and abstract scientific ideas clearly
Making longevity science relatable and engaging
Balancing scientific accuracy with emotional storytelling
Delivering visually distinctive content across global locations

I combined human stories with scientific insight, using location and action sequences to make abstract ideas tangible, and worked with top-level camera operators and graphics teams to create premium visual sequences that aided understanding and engagement.
Selected stories

- Used a biathlon race in Finland to demonstrate how exercise reduces glaucoma risk.
 - Followed a 70-year-old skydiver to explore how low-oxygen environments can boost cognitive function.
 - Translated complex epigenetic science around cell senescence into accessible, visually led narratives, using concepts such as zombies and scuba diving.
